A Study in Drowning

A Study in Drowning follows Effy Sayre, a lonely architecture student obsessed with the writings of the late national author Emrys Myrddin. Believing in the fairy king from Myrddin’s stories, Effy struggles with trauma, isolation, and visions no one else believes. She wins a competition to redesign Myrddin’s decaying estate and travels to the remote mansion, where she meets Preston Héloury, a skeptical literature student investigating Myrddin’s legacy. As storms batter the estate, Effy uncovers buried truths about Myrddin, misogyny in academia, and the dangerous line between myth and reality, while confronting her own fears and desires.
