Godzilla: Awakening

Godzilla: Awakening is the official graphic novel prequel to the 2014 blockbuster film Godzilla, set within Legendary's MonsterVerse. Co-written by film screenwriter Max Borenstein, the story follows Dr. Ishiro Serizawa's father, Dr. Eiji Serizawa, in the aftermath of WWII. The Hiroshima bombing awakens a deadly prehistoric parasite known as Shinomura, which in turn rouses Godzilla from his ancient slumber. Tracing the foundational origins of the secret organization Monarch, this graphic novel unveils decades of hidden monster encounters across the Pacific.
