--> The book is in an excellent condition. Like new. Set in 1870s high-society New York, The Age of Innocence follows Newland Archer, a wealthy lawyer engaged to the sweet and conventional May Welland. However, his quiet world is upended by the arrival of May’s cousin, the disgraced Countess Ellen Olenska, who has returned from Europe following a failed marriage. Captivated by Ellen’s independence and unorthodox spirit, Newland finds himself torn between his deep passion for her and the rigid expectations, hypocrisy, and duty imposed by the elite society he belongs to.
