Synopsis: It wasn't a dream. I knew I'd seen one pilot somehow forcing another pilot to his death. 1973. Twelve young pilots begin a spectacular air race to promote peace within a divided Europe. Stella North may be the sole female competitor, but she is determined to prove her skill and assert her British identity in spite of her Nansen passport, which declares her stateless. However, on the first leg of the race Stella is the only witness to a horrifying event where another competitor dies. The authorities rush to call it an accident, but Stella knows otherwise. As the race resumes, she begins her own investigation into the other pilots, who are each hiding a turbulent past. But could any of them be capable of murder?
