The three Maxwell siblings grew up as the only Black family in an affluent, gated community outside Dallas. Almost immediately after moving in, terrifying and inexplicable occurrences began to plague their household—yet their formidable mother refused to leave. Years later, after escaping the horrors of their childhood home, Ezri and their sisters are forced to return following the mysterious deaths of their parents. Back in the house that haunted their youth, the siblings must confront secret histories, generational trauma, and the insidious forces of systemic racism and oppression to uncover what truly happened to their family.
