Insight: The Surprising Truth About How Others See Us, How We See Ourselves, and Why the Answers Matter More Than We Think Tasha Eurich (Crown Currency, 2018, 352 หน้า) คนส่วนใหญ่รู้สึกว่าตัวเองรู้จักตัวเองดีพอสมควร แต่คำถามของ ดร. Most of us feel we know ourselves reasonably well, and Eurich's research says most of us are wrong. An organizational psychologist, she starts from the finding that self-awareness — knowing who you are and how others actually see you — underpins high performance, good decisions and durable relationships, then spends the book on the awkward fact that clear self-perception is rarer than we assume. The useful parts are the counterintuitive ones: why the standard routes to self-knowledge, therapy and journaling among them, don't reliably produce insight; how to shut down the inner ruminator that quietly drains confidence; how to find out what people say about you once you've left the room; how to take feedback without either fighting or fleeing; and why the people with the most power are so often the least self-aware, a trap the best leaders learn to sidestep. It's written for working life, but the sharpest chapters are about the ordinary difficulty of hearing something true about yourself from someone who isn't obliged to be kind.
